The Prevention and Treatment through a Comprehensive Care Continuum for HIV-affected Adolescents in Resource Constrained Settings - Implementation Science Network (PATC³H-IN)

The Prevention and Treatment through a Comprehensive Care Continuum for HIV-affected Adolescents in Resource Constrained Settings - Implementation Science Network (PATC³H-IN) is an expansion and improvement of its predecessor, PATC³H. It extends to new geographic settings with limited implementation science (IS) research capacity or high HIV incidence populations that are underrepresented in international adolescent HIV research.

The network’s mission is to evaluate promising prevention innovations tailored for HIV-uninfected youth in high HIV incidence communities and to assess treatment and care interventions for youth living with HIV, which have shown efficacy or effectiveness in adolescent or adult populations. The goal is to translate these interventions into public health practices and stimulate much-needed IS research in a neglected area of public health: preventing new HIV infections among youth in high HIV incidence communities, and identifying, linking, retaining, and achieving long-term viral suppression among youth living with HIV in low-to-middle income countries (LMICs).

The Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD) and partner National Institutes of Health (NIH) institutes fund the PATC³H-IN program.
